ABWA Jessamine Chapter Minutes of Meeting on September 21, 2009

According to the sign in sheets there were 16 members and 9 guests present.

Meeting was held at Westcott Plantation Club house just off of Dorchester Road.

Sign in and networking started at 6:00 pm, with money for dinner and local dues collected during signing in by Rebecca Gooden, treasurer and Linda Lopez.  Members and guests mingled in the lobby area until 6:20 then were seated in the dining room.

Dinner was served as the meeting began.

Kathy Berman, president opened the meeting at 6:30 pm. Guests and new members introduced themselves. Kathy Berman did a short quiz to highlight the importance of reading the newsletter. She also requested members to RSVP for dinner in the allotted time.

Cheryl Smithem, of CBS Web Designs did a presentation on the ABWA Jessamine Chapter Web site. Using slides, she educated members on some of the technology behind the scenes, then showed us a live rendering of the proposed site. After the presentation, Kathy Berman asked the members for a motion to move on hiring Cheryl to complete the site. Hillary Hutchinson made a motion and Sandy Irving seconded the motion. There were 14 yes votes to proceed and 0 negative votes. Cheryl will proceed to complete the web site.

Kathy Berman introduced Crystal Eadie who gave the five minute member commercial on her company. She creates unique wall coverings and designs. She invited members to look at her display and take samples and brochures.

Carla Jimenez introduced Sue Mack Ridgeway, Owner of Divine Creations, her own interior design company. Sue Mack has four children and  is a Jessamine Chapter member. She is a fourth generation designer. She presented a slide show with examples of Contemporary, Old World and Traditional design styles. While the slide show high lighted her larger projects, Sue Mack explained that a designer can help everyone save  money as well as help with presenting the home of your dreams within your means.

50/50:  Shauna Heathman won $19.
